ninja polish - color changing garnet

i took these pics a few days ago, trying to shoot them with indoor light wasn't happening so i had to wait for the sun to come to my side of the building.

i still actually have this on.  it's another that i don't want to take off.

this is 2 coats of color changing garnet over cult nails - nevermore and 1 coat of poshe topcoat.  i probably could have done just 1, it still looked good like that.

this can be purchased from ninja polish.

i might need to sit down soon and just make a cheap lightbox for when the sun isn't out or for when i take pics in the middle of the night and the polish is one that needs light instead of camera flash to show it off.

lots of pics below.

enchanted polish - bruised nutcracker beetle juice

first off, wally says hi.

what a sleepy sweetheart.

i started this manicure with 2 coats of enchanted polish - bruised nutcracker.  this was from the ho ho holodays collection.  i did this last night before i went to bed.  used poshe as my topcoat and fell asleep.  i think i'm liking it more than seche vite.  there's no shrinking and it seems more glassy.

i came home from work today  and wanted to add to this manicure, so i grabbed beetle juice, which was my favorite from the falloween collection.  this is 1 coat of beetle juice followed by a coat of gelous and a coat of poshe.  i'm pretty sure this isn't being removed until it starts to chip.  i love beetle juice so much.

both were purchased from llarowe.

snow

love when it snows.

just shot this picture.  the sun hit the ice on the branches just right and i got stars.

open full sized to see.

indulgence water marble

this watermarble was done last night over this manicure.  i used opi ds - indulgence and fingerpaints - black expressionism.

i really should start doing more marbles again.  i love how they turn out and my nails are finally long enough again to do them on.

blah, looks like i need to go back and clean up my thumb...

pistachio gelato

picked this up at target, they had them 2 for 8 bucks.    this is so packed with flavor...it's amazing.

the other one that i picked up was some chocolate one.  it also looks really good.

just thought i'd share this.

opi - ds indulgence

i picked this up at ulta yesterday.  ran in to get a new bottle of  topcoat and saw that they actually had these.  this was the last indulgence, there were 2 luxurious left.

this is 2 coats of indulgence with 1 coat of poshe topcoat.  loving poshe.  it's much more shiny than seche vite and there's no shrinking like you will sometimes get with seche.

i love all of the ds polishes, but this one might be in my top 3.

you do see more of the gold colored flecks in person, my camera didn't want to pick them up.

spectraflair experiment

so apparently my sister didn't like the thought of me taking a break from uploading pictures.  so, here i am :P

i purchased some grades of spectraflair from here.  it is not the powder form, it is in a suspension base and it is extremely concentrated.   i first mixed some up in an opi topcoat since that's the clear i had sitting out. i realized that it was way too much even though i hardly used any, so i found a 2nd bottle of dumped about a quarter of the first bottle into it and that's what i have on right now.  when wearing that first mix on its own you don't see any of the colored polish underneath.

i also wanted to try with a color, so i found my old cnd oilslick and put some in.  i like it better used as a topcoat to be honest.  i didn't want to add too much into the colored polish and have it also turn pure silver,  so i just stopped and decided to go with the topcoat.

no cleanup done on the below pics.  honestly just wanted to get these online.

nail nation 3000 - happy holo-days

i was planning on getting this uploaded this morning, but that didn't happen.  i went out at 7am to go get the cats food and found out that my battery had died.  my dad thankfully came out with a new one and put it in for me.  so instead of writing this up like i was planning to this morning, i was outside with him.

this is 2 coats of nail nation happy holo-days #104.  this applied great like all of maria's other polishes.    i then decided to do a gradient with butterfly net #16.  shaped glitters like animals, hearts, etc arent' my thing, so i just used an orange stick to take the butterflies that came out on the brush off.

i love holo-days on it's own.  it looks jade in some lights, celery colored in others.  i don't have another holo that is anything like this one.

after butterfly net i used 1 coat of gelous and 1 coat of seche vite.  it is glass smooth.  usually bar glitter will try to stick up, but not the case with with one.

no cleanup was done in the first pictures since i knew i'd be adding to it.

ludurana supernova - onda de luz

this collection is available at llarowe.  i haven't seen holos that are this strong like ever.  this is 2 coats of onda over 1 coat of cult nails - nevermore, 1 coat of seche vite over the top.

all of these photos are with flash, but it does glow like crazy in lower light as well.  the holo was not as strong under the shitty lights we have at work.

i'm also uploading a video of this.  i'll probably start doing these for holo polishes.  this was taken on my itouch with the light on.

nail nation 3000 - sock monkey #51

i chose to layer this one just in case it wouldn't cover on it's own.  the base i used was really light and looked more like a french manicure than anything else, i used opi's care to danse? so this one would have been fine with 2 coats by itself.

this is 2 coats of sock monkey with 1 coat of seche vite.    i love how light this is...its been a while since i've worn anything really light and non-holo.  maria's description on her facebook photo for this polish is:

SOCK MONKEYYYY!!!! # 51

A creamy base of sock monkey colors!!! Great layers of awesome sock monkey-ness!!!! Get your sock monkey on !!!

i think next time i won't bother layering it over anything.  still loving it how it turned out though.

llarowe and nail nation 3000 mail

these are a combination of a few orders.  1 was from llarowe's black friday sale, another was the enchanted polish release and the last group is my latest package from nail nation 3000.

i love the new packaging on the enchanted polishes.  the printed, square bottles look so much better than the ones that had the paper labels.

also i'm loving the all silver stickers on the nail  nations.

first up....black friday order from llarowe.  i have to say that all of the other pictures that i've seen online doesn't capture the holo in holo'ween like seeing it in person.  this is one amazing polish.  of course the glitter gals are also amazing, i'm debating on throwing on citrine first.

nail nation 3000 - naughty or nice? #39

this was 2 coats of naughty or nice? and 1 coat of seche vite.  the holo in this one is crazy.

here's the description of the polish from nail nation 3000's facebook:

Naughty or Nice? #39

A triple silver holo with red and holo glitters too spice up any list! Are you naughty or nice?
2012 only color next years version will be very different! ;)

a lot of the glitter stuck to the side of the bottle on this one, it's from when it shipped.  going to have to keep shaking it and hope it mixes back with the polish.

i love the color change on my thumb in this first photo.

straight flash...speckles are the red glitter

nail nation 3000 - fierce #5

this is 1 coat of fierce #5 over cult nails - nevermore and 1  coat of seche vite.

i received a mini bottle of this with my first purchase of nail nation 3000 polishes.  it's really pretty in person, like her other polishes it does change depending on the lighting, some of the purple isn't as pronounced  in some light.  my only wish is that it were a darker red.  layering it did seem to darken it a bit, but i love dark, dark reds.

blah, looks like i missed some black near my cuticles with cleanup.  oh well, it happens ;)

nail nation 3000 - daddy's girl #180

so, this one is in honor of leah ann's mother.  she posted on facebook that her mother passed a year ago today and that pink was her favorite color.  it's also mine, though i haven't posted pink manicures on the blog.   i thought this would be a good reason to pick a pink polish to wear today.

this is daddy's girl #180 by nails nation 3000.  1 coat of seche vite was used, no clean up done.  her polishes apply perfectly.  this isn't a super strong holo, like kizmit, however it is still gorgeous.

llarowe will soon be carrying nail nation 3000, mine were purchased through the facebook page.

nail nation 3000 - shine on me 23k #100

for my base on this i used 2 coats of opi - every month is oktoberfest.

1 coat of shine on me with a coat of gelous and a coat of seche vite.  no application issues at all with this one.

this gold top coat is so pretty.  i almost wish now that i would have passed on the opi one from the skyfall collection.  this one has tiny glitter in it, where the opi one doesn't.

i love how this turned out.  didn't clean it up yet, i just want to get to sleep after the huge dinner we had at my parents' tonight.

nail nation 3000 - kizmit #701

this is the polish that i first wanted to purchase and wear.  it was described as a quad holo.  the strength of the holo seems to change depending on the light you are looking at it in.  gorgeous gunmetal base.

all of these were shot with flash...my apartment is really dark, even with my shades  opened and all of my lights on.

this is 1 coat of stinky skunk base coat, 2 coats of kizmit, 1 coat of seche vite.  the  topcoat didn't seem to dull this like a lot of holos do when worn with a topcoat.

also...application was perfect.  i didn't clean up either hand.  not sure if it's the formula of the polish, or the shorter brush or the quality of the brush.  seriously this went on smooth.

the amount of holo going on with this one is crazy.

**edited to add this picture**

the sun finally came around to my side of the building.  this is no flash O.O

this was taken with the light my dining room area, where i shoot all of my pictures:

i still can't believe how smooth this went on with no cleanup  at all.

this was in the same area,  just held my hand closer to the light in the room:

nailnation3000 - first orders

my friend allison from facebook suggested i check out this nail polish maker.  i am so glad i did.  she makes amazing holo polishes and i also got her 23k gold topcoat.  i ended up purchasing 2 separate orders directly through facebook.  they arrived super fast, which surprised me.  i ordered on the  15th and 16th and they were delivered to my mom's yesterday.

i have chatted with her a few times now and she comes across as one of the most sincere people.  you can  tell that she really appreciates your interest in her polishes and really wants her customers to be happy with her items.   i even had a free sample included with my first order.  i got her basecoat to try out also.  i am always looking for an amazing base coat.  it smells strong, it's called stinky skunk base coat for a reason, but the smell goes away once dried, in about a minute according to her post on facebook.  i can deal with that if it works ;)

she has been doing nails for 20 years and has been working the last 3 on creating.  llarowe announced that she is going to be carrying maria's line.  that is huge, llarowe only carries the best  polishes and i'm glad maria had this opportunity to get her polishes noticed.

i wanted to get these photos online asap, they are so gorgeous in person.

nailnation3000's facebook page is here:  http://www.facebook.com/NailNation3000
her youtube page is here:  http://www.youtube.com/user/NailNation3000

there are some awesome tutorials uploaded on her youtube channel.  i plan on spending some time soon going through videos on this page...that never happens, so you know what i've watched has been worth it :P

anyhow, onto the pics...

this is the card that was attached to my invoice.  it looks really professional, i love the picture she chose also.

enchanted polish - vampire hex

this is 1 coat (shocked) of vampire's dessert with 2 coats of practice safe hex, 1 coat of gelous and 1 coat of seche vite.  i  didn't grab a picture of vampire's dessert on it's own.  forgot to...but it's gorgeous by itself.

i purchased both of these from llarowe.  practice safe hex was from the falloween collection.  vampire's dessert is listed on enchanted's site, but is out of stock at the moment.

this is picture heavy..there's so much pretty going on with this.

slightly blurred to show more holo

ozotic 904 matte

this turned out to be a pretty cool effect.

hopefully it'll last the weekend at work.  sigh.  work.

Thursday, November 15, 2012

ozotic - 904

this is sponged  over 2 coats of glitter gal serpent black.  it seriously glows in person.

904 is available at harlow & co, which is where i purchased it from, as well as llarowe.   serpent black was purchased from llarowe  a while back.  i couldn't find my cult nails - nevermore, so i reached for the first black i came across.

ozotics make me weak.  seriously.  every one of them are so perfect.

cult nails - seduction

this is 2 coats of seduction over 2 coats of orly rococo a-go-go and 1 coat of seche vite.

seduction is in a really sheer purple base, this is one you'll definitely want to layer over something.  i chose rococo a-go-go because they are similar and i thought it would layer well.

seduction is a limited edition color, however it looks to still be available at this time.

the color shifts in this one were hard to catch on camera.
