enchanted polish - castle comparison

this is going to be an extremely picture heavy post.  these polishes have so much going on with each of them and i tried to capture them in different light, different flash,  no flash,  etc.  the only thing i couldn't do was the florescent light in the kitchen.  luck would have it that both lights burnt out when i turned on the switch this morning.  here's hoping maintenance can switch them out soon enough today.

anyhow, here's a comparison between castle on a cloud and ice castle.  both colors are 1 thin coat over cult nails - nevermore and a coat of seche on top.

though they look similar in certain light, they are completely different when side by side.  please scroll through all of these pictures to see what i was able to capture.

pinky and ring fingers are castle on a cloud, middle and pointer fingers are ice castle.

enchanted polish - castle on a cloud

this was purchased from enchanted's site at http://enchantedpolish.bigcartel.com.  i don't even know where to begin with describing this...it's holo, it's glass fleck, it shifts color depending on the light.  it's amazing in person.

i layered 2 coats of castle on a cloud over 1 coat of cult nails - nevermore.  1 coat of seche vite.

it is seriously impossible to photograph how this polish changes when worn, pic heavy post ahead....

photo dump

i haven't posted lately due to lack of time and lack of feeling motivated lol.  it has been a busy month with stuff with my dad and mom going on.

anyhow,  i've still taken pictures of manicures and instead of making posts for each of these i'm just going to dump them into one post.  i'll try to start posting regularly again because someone *cough* brooke *cough*  keeps on my ass every time i talk to her.  thanks, sister.

anyhow, most of these have bottle shots of what was used.   if there are any questions, feel free to ask and i'll try to remember what was used.  the literary lacquers one was purchased from their etsy.  cult nails was from cultnails.com, china glaze was from sally's and everything else was purchased from llarowe.   i swear i will  never let my posts get this far behind again.

literary lacquers - more like fire than light

shift happens gradient

fast post tonight...it's a work night and i'm tired.  i really wanted to show this though.

my inspiration is from here, i fell in love as soon as i saw it and knew i wanted to wear it.

i didn't use a white for my base, i used contrary polish - somebody loved as my base, this is a light pink/lavender with shimmer.  i then sponged cult nails - nevermore and added 2 coats of girly bits - shift happens.

i want to do this again with other light bases.

i do have a few other sets of pictures on my camera, just haven't felt like sitting down to upload pics, but i'll get them online soon.

there is tipwear from work, but this still looks gorgeous in person.

the first 2 are without flash, last 4 are with flash.  again, sorry for the wear, i took these tonight when i got home from work since the sun was on my side of the building.

coco allure - jupiter aurora

this is 1 coat of jupiter aurora over 1 coat of cult nails - nevermore.  1 coat of gelous and poshe.

this was purchased from the etsy shop here.  llarowe is also supposed to be carrying this brand soon.

it's pretty impossible to catch all of the color shifts in this one.

nail nation 3000 - amaze-balls and wicked cool

this is 2 coats of amaze-balls, the taped ones have 1 coat of wicked cool.  1 coat of poshe was used over everything.

like all of my nail nation 3000 polishes, these applied perfectly.

these are part of the 'raging holo summer 2013' collection, available for purchase through facebook.

pink is my favorite color and this is about the brightest pink holo i've ever seen.  i love it.

st. patrick's day

i haven't been posting at all recently, have been feeling really depressed and haven't felt like taking pictures or posting anything.  i'm going to try to kick in again and post more often, i just unfortunately haven't felt it the last few weeks.

anyhow, this is what i did on thursday for st. patrick's day.  planned waaay ahead for that day ;)  this was the only green i had on for the day, heh.

surprisingly, i still have this on.  i'm thinking it's nail nation's base coat keeping it on so well.  it still looks the same as what it does in these pictures.

also...finally no cuticle issues at all.  i've been using the oil i threw together from the recipe found here.  she posted her recipe because she believes in the product and doesn't feel the need to hide ingredients.  unfortunately i couldn't justify the price when i can gather most of the ingredients used and make a huge batch for around the same price.  i was running low on solar oil and thought i'd give it a try.  i'm never going to use anything else ever again.   i put it on 1-2 times a day....usually just 1 time a day before bed on work days, a few times a day when i'm not at work and have time to let it soak in.

here's a list for the recipe if you don't feel like reading through the whole post.

  • 4 oz Jojoba Oil
  • 4 oz Grape Seed Oil
  • 4 oz Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 3 drops Tea Tree Oil
  • 2 mL Vitamin E Oil
  • 2 mL Vitamin A Oil
  • 2 to 4 mL Essential Oil (depending on the strength of the essential oil.) - i used eucalyptus and it smelled amazing to me.
i was able to purchase everything from drugstore.com.   the only thing that i couldn't find was liquid vitamin a oil, so i just bought the capsules and punctured them.  my friend allison found liquid vitamin a at vitacost.  next time i throw together a batch i'm sure i'll just buy it from there.  big thanks to her for the tip.  it's going to be a while before i need to buy any though, the batch this made is a good size, plus i still have like half a bottle of the vitamin a capsules left.  anyhow, i'd suggest anyone to try this, either by purchasing it or making your own.  my mom loves it and i know she'll also keep using it for as long as i have it on hand.

anyhow, this was supposed to be about my manicure, not the oil, but i got kinda sidetracked.  oh well.

here are some shiny pictures.

this was 2 coats of mean mr. mustard and 1 coat of beetle juice.  1 coat of poshe.  both of these were purchased from llarowe ages ago.
