layla - jade groove

this was 1 coat of nfu oh's aqua base coat, which made a hell of a difference with this polish.  2 coats of jade groove.

before this polish would drag or get bald spots when applying the 2nd coat, so the fact that this applies like butter with this base means i'll definitely be reaching more for these layla's...after i get done wearing my nfu oh flakies.

this was on for almost 3 days with no chips or issues.

layla - the butterfly effect

this is 2 coats of the butterfly effect over 1 coat of cult nails - nevermore.  1 coat of poshe topcoat.

i probably could have done 3 coats of this on it's own, but i like it over black.

please ignore the cuticle on my pinky...my hands have been so dry.  i actually just bought the stuff today to  make my own nail oil, so we'll see how that turns out.  it came out to about the same as a huge bottle of solar oil, but you can make like 3 times as much.

anyhow, on to the pictures:

layla ultra violet

pretty sure the trick to these holo's are to have a really smooth basecoat.  i tried doing these with my usual 'get it on' cult nails base and it smudged bad.  i threw on gelous over that and tried again and it seemed to go on perfect.  will need to try that first the next time i grab one of these.

the holo on the ones that i've worn from this set are insane.

4 days of wear and my ring finger is starting to flake off near my cuticle.  other than that, no real issues with wear on these for me.

layla hologram effect - flash black swatch

even though my nails are cut down to shit at the moment i thought i'd go ahead and post this, i might just go ahead and start posting swatches even though they are so short.

the color on this is amazing in person.  it doesn't look like it could be a nail polish.

applying it is a bit wonky.  if the brush drags too much you'll get a spot that turns out thin, so i found if the brush is just barely glided over it tends to cover better.

i'm in love with this...

layla - hologram effect collection

today i just have pictures of the layla 'hologram effect' collection.  i wore jade groove before i cut my nails down.  it's a gorgeous holo, lots of flash in sunlight.  unfortunately it'll be a while before i take any new pics of manicures...my nails are completely gone.  they've been growing fast and have been longer than i've ever had them before, it still sucks having to cut them all off because you feel like your typing is uneven with one short one >.<

i apparently missed taking a picture of ocean rush, i'll get that up when i wear it.  can you tell i'm new to trying to organize stuff for a blog?  also flash black wouldn't focus with my camera.  at least you can see some of the colors in it with it slightly blurred.

anyhow, here's jade grove:

and the rest of the collection:
